The new year-round yard waste collection program scheduled to begin this week has been delayed, according to an Arlington County statement.
The planned distribution of new yard waste collection carts to households in August and September has also been postponed.
The delay is because of pending litigation with unsuccessful bidders, the statement said.
Current trash and recycling services will continue uninterrupted, and charges for the new program will not go into effect until it begins.

Police are investigating accusations that rapper DMX and his entourage robbed a New Jersey man of thousands of dollars in an encounter at a gas station on Sunday.
A 21-year-old man said that at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, he encountered the rapper and about 15 members of his entourage at an Exxon gas station in Newark, Sgt. Ronald Glover, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department, told NJ.com.
